Mehtamorphosis

Mehtamorphosis narrates the evolution of an intermittently truant boy into an eye surgeon. There was some detours along the journey, completed by sheer doggedness and hard work – helped along by understanding family and well-wishers. Hemant was elected to an early membership of the prestigious International Intraocular Implant Club (IIIC) which then admitted only 250 of the most advanced eye surgeons of the world practicing microsurgical techniques. This conferred universal ophthalmic recognition. As an all-round ophthalmic surgeon, the author initiated numerous innovations with sparse resources. These innovations have rendered ophthalmic surgery simpler, safer and consistently effective and have been adopted in ophthalmic and plastic surgery armoury.
