Saraswathi is the pen name of Late Shri C.B.Ravi, also known as Cheerath Bhaskaran Ravi. He was a linguist with good knowledge of Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Bengali, and Gujarati, in addition to English and the East African language, Swahili. He worked for the British Government in Tanzania, East Africa from 1951 to 1967 and retired as a Revenue Officer of PWD. He retired early to come back to his country and settled in Chennai. In Chennai, he started and successfully ran a typing institute from 1968 to 1996, following which he retired and donated the institute to a charitable organization.
Shri Ravi exhibited a desire to write dramas and stories even at a very young age of 10 years. Many of his stories have been published in his native tongue Malayalam. He was a great storyteller and reveled in telling stories from Hindu Puranas to his young friends. Shri Ravi spent his life in a worthy manner imparting education, good moral values, and above all a love for the Indian culture and tradition.
